Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when the American App Hub platform is used. The platform includes the public website, developer website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, users and developers acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- visitors to the public website
- users of the American App Hub app
- anyone who downloads applications through the Service
- developers who upload or manage applications
- visitors to the developer website or developer tools
- any other users of the Service
This policy applies only to the American App Hub platform itself. Applications distributed through the App Hub may have their own privacy practices.
2. Public Information
The App Hub platform is designed to make certain information publicly accessible.
Any information that is submitted for the purpose of publishing, describing, or rating an application may be publicly displayed.
This may include:
- app ratings or reviews
- developer names or organization names
- app names
- app descriptions
- screenshots and icons
- release notes
- support contact information
- public developer profiles
Users should assume that all information manually uploaded to the Service for any purpose will be visible to users and may be indexed by search engines.
Information that is intended for public display should not contain sensitive personal data.
3. Developer Information
Developers may be asked to provide information when creating an account or publishing apps.
This information may include:
- developer name or organization name
- contact email address
- website or support links
- developer profile information
Some of this information may be publicly displayed as part of application listings. The Service may also maintain internal records for operational purposes, such as account management and abuse prevention.
The "Developer Console" requires users to create an account.
4. Anonymous Usage Statistics
The Service collects limited anonymous statistics to help operate and improve the platform.
These statistics are collected in the form of incremented counters or similar aggregated metrics.
Examples may include:
- number of app downloads
- number of installs or updates
- number of App Hub page views
- number of ratings or reviews (within wide categories)
- number of developer uploads
These statistics are collected without identifying individual users.
Aggregated statistics may be displayed publicly as part of the App Hub interface or developer tools.
For example:
- public download counts
- install statistics
- usage summaries
Because these statistics are aggregated counters, they are not intended to identify individual users.
5. Age Category Verification
The Service verifies user age categories before allowing certain app downloads.
Age categories may include ranges such as:
- unknown age
- under 18
- 18 and older
The purpose of this verification is to help enforce:
- age-restricted app policies
- legal compliance requirements
- child protection standards
The age category information may be stored by the Service. Exact ages are not stored. To obtain this age category information, the Service temporarily obtains personally identifying information in the form of photographs of ID cards. The ID card photographs are processed and confirmed on-device. After the necessary age category is extracted, the non-age information is deleted.
6. Age Category Sharing With Applications
Age category information may be shared with applications installed from the American App Hub or other locations.
This sharing is limited to age category status, not exact birth dates.
The purpose of this sharing includes:
- verifying eligibility to access age-restricted content
- supporting parental control systems
- enabling legal compliance for certain applications
Applications may use this information to determine whether features or content should be available.
Developers are required to use age category information only for compliance and eligibility purposes.
7. Device and Technical Information
Limited technical information may be collected when the Service is used. This collection is entirely voluntary and is disabled by default.
This information may include:
- device type and features
- operating system version
- application version
- error reports or diagnostic data
This information is used to:
- maintain platform stability
- diagnose technical problems
- improve compatibility
This information is generally processed in aggregated or non-identifying form.
8. Cookies and Web Technologies
The developer console and the related webpages use "local storage" to keep you signed into your developer account. Traditional "cookies" are not used for this purpose.
Other portions of the website do not use cookies, session storage, or other similar technologies. This decision ensures simplicity and privacy.
9. Information Shared With Developers
Developers may receive certain information related to their applications.
This may include:
- aggregated download statistics
- aggregated usage metrics
- age category status
Information shared with developers is intended to help analyze trends, operate their applications, and comply with policies.
For non-developers, personally identifying information is not collected and therefore cannot be shared.
10. Data Security
Reasonable security measures are used to protect platform systems and data.
However, no system can guarantee complete security.
Developers and users are encouraged to protect their accounts and privacy by:
- using strong passwords
- keeping login credentials confidential
- refraining from sharing electronic devices with others
11. Data Retention
Information may be retained for as long as necessary to:
- operate the Service
- maintain public app listings
- enforce platform policies
- comply with legal obligations
Public information associated with published applications may remain visible even if developer accounts are inactive.
Data that is not collected cannot be retained.
12. Children's Privacy
The Service may verify age categories in order to restrict access to certain content. If users are identified as belonging to an age group that requires additional protection under applicable laws, restrictions may be applied to certain applications or features. Parents or guardians who believe that a child has provided personal information improperly may contact the platform operator.
13. Third-Party Applications
Applications available through the American App Hub are created by independent developers. These applications may collect or process user information according to their own privacy policies. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of individual applications before using them. The American App Hub platform is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party applications.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
Updates may reflect:
- new features
- legal requirements
- operational changes
Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
15. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy may be directed to the platform operator through the contact information listed on the American App Hub website.
